It is OK to be the real you. You do not need to bottle up or hide bad feelings or illnesses especially from the people that love you. Craft these two pocket message projects to remind a friend or yourself that it is OK to be you!

Spread the Love

Support a Friend

Not only is sending a message a nice gesture, but it can be a wonderful way to support a friend or loved one that is dealing with depression. It is common for someone with depression to suffer silently and appear normal on the outside. One of the best ways to show support is to be there

Supplies

Stamp in Color

Use your brush pens to paint the back of the stamp letters. Blend multiple colors for a multi-color effect. Stamp the words "Be You" onto light colored scrapbook paper.

Cut Scrapbook Cards

Cut scrapbook cards to fit into your pocket protectors. Standard pocket protectors (with 9 pockets) fit cards sized 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Cut 2.5 x 3.5 in. rectangles out of your favorite cardstock.

Glue Your Message

Cut out each word of your stamped message and glue them to the front of the 2.5 x 3.5 in. cardstock rectangle.

Outline Your Message

Take a brush pen and outline around each word of your message.

Personalize

Personalize your card with glitter, embellishments, and attach 3 weather stickers to the front of the card with a paper clip. Copy this message to the back of the card to show your support.

I don't just like the best of you, I like all of you. I'm always here no matter what you are going through.

Send it to a Friend

Slip your cards into pockets of the pocket protector. Carefully cut out each rectangle. Surprise a friend with this message so they know that you are always there for them.

Love Yourself

We are not going to feel great and confident every single day and some days we might need a reminder of why we are amazing! This is a quick project that you can personalize and keep in a journal to remind yourself of the wonderful qualities that make you "You-nique".

Why I Love Me

Use your brush pens to stamp the phrase "Why I Love Me" onto light colored scrapbook paper. Cut out each word of the phrase and glue them to the front of one of your 2.5 x 3.5 in. scrapbook cards. Cut out a 2.5 x 2.5 square and using a glue stick, place glue around the edges and stick it to the back of your scrapbook card to make a pocket. Cut little strips of light colored scrapbook paper and stick them in the pocket.

Front Why I love Me (Front)

On a good day, write positive messages about yourself and your accomplishments. Use the strips to make a design in your journal. On a bad day, open this page and remind yourself of the wonderful, creative, unique, amazing person that you are!
